Protection against snow and ice: heating cables for defrosting systems
In cold climate areas, the need to protect installations from snow, ice, and frost is very common. These applications can generally be divided into three types:

• Roofs, gutters, and downpipes
• Outdoor surfaces: sidewalks, parking ramps, stairs, walkways, loading docks, etc.
• Pipes

This requirement applies to both residential buildings and the tertiary sector (particularly restaurants and hotels), as well as industrial facilities. In all these cases, thanks to their effectiveness and ease of installation and use, heating cables have become the go-to solution.

For snowmelting applications, we offer a highly durable heating cable (twin-conductor with braided shielding), suitable for industrial and outdoor use. Its black outer sheath includes UV protection for outdoor exposure.

To suit all needs, the cable is available in a wide range of linear power outputs (from 8 W/m to 33 W/m) and can be connected to both 230 V and 380 V. For easier installation, the same cable is also available in a heating mat format.

Typical power ratings for standard applications are as follows:

• Cold rooms: 8 W/m – 10 to 20 W/m².
• Gutters and downpipes: 17 W/m – 10 to 20 W/m.
• Roofs: 25 to 33 W/m – 250 W/m².
• Open areas: 25 to 33 W/m – 150 to 300 W/m².
