The heating cable, also known as heating wire, is supplied in a spool format with a cold tail (power supply cable) already connected. The same heating cable can also be provided in the form of a heating mat, where the cable is pre-attached to a fiberglass mesh for easier installation.
For underfloor heating installations (residential and commercial), we have developed the ADPSZV cable, a double conductor heating cable with helical shielding.
Most heating cables or radiant wires are resistance cables. Their core consists of an electric resistor with a constant linear resistance value that heats up as current passes through it.
For each application, specific cable ranges have been designed, where the type of resistor and the cable length are adjusted to a precise linear power output (power per meter of cable) to deliver the appropriate heat and temperature. For this reason, they are only sold as finished elements, already connected to a power cable with a predefined power rating and length. Heating cables must not be cut after manufacturing, as this would lower the total resistance, increase the linear power, and expose the cable and the installation to excessively high temperatures.
Our cables are double conductor (two resistors in parallel), with the circuit factory-closed at one end of the heating element. The other end features a single power cable that connects to the junction box, making installation easier.
The heating cable/radiant wire is made up of several layers that ensure proper insulation of the resistors and provide the necessary characteristics for each application, in compliance with international standards. For installations in humid areas (bathrooms/kitchens) or outdoors, an electrical shield covering the full circumference of the cable and connected to the ground is mandatory, ensuring maximum user safety.

For all applications, the heating requirement can be defined in order to achieve the desired comfort and temperature, depending on the environment. In underfloor heating, this is expressed as installed power per square meter. Depending on the room type, climate, and the building’s insulation, the recommended power ranges from 60 to 150 W/m².
Each surface power requirement can be achieved with more or less cable length, depending on the cable’s linear power output (power per meter of cable): different linear power ranges are available (e.g., 10 W/m, 17.9 W/m, etc.) for each type of cable.
When the cable is installed directly beneath the floor covering, it is advisable to use a longer cable with a lower linear power rating to allow for a smaller spacing between loops (~8 cm), avoiding cold spots.
In semi-accumulation systems (cable embedded in 3–4 cm of cement) or accumulation systems (cable embedded in the concrete structure), the cable loops can be spaced further apart, and the linear power rating can be increased.
Conversely, the same cable can provide different surface power outputs depending on the spacing between loops (distributing the same total power over a larger or smaller area). This flexibility can also be applied within the same room, by installing the cable with variable spacing to distribute heat unevenly based on the needs of each zone.
