When placed in two layers (3 + 4 mm) glued together on top of the heating film, it forms a rigid and compact structure where the PVC floor or carpet can be fixed.
Thermal Insulation for Floors
Thermal insulation is a key element of underfloor heating, crucial for both energy efficiency and proper system operation. Its main purpose is to minimize heat losses through the floor, directing the heat flow upward, thus reducing energy consumption and system response time.
In most cases of renovations, where there is insufficient thermal insulation or it is located far beneath the existing floor, special floor insulations help prevent heat loss to the floor and existing structure, significantly reducing heating service costs and improving system response time.
HEAT-PAK Separator Layer
ECOFILM heating films operate at 230V for safety and system durability and cannot be placed directly under soft floors (carpets, PVC flooring). In such cases, the solution is to install a HEAT-PAK separator layer with appropriate thermal conductivity and sufficient rigidity for efficient and safe installation.
HEAT-PAK separator layers are installed dry (no cement required), adding only 7 mm to the total floor thickness. The packaging includes 8 plates (4 base plates of 3 mm thickness + 4 cover plates of 4 mm thickness), each with a thin adhesive layer. The plates are placed and glued together in two layers, creating a solid and firm construction on which PVC flooring or carpet can be installed.
