Floor thermal insulation is a key component of underfloor heating systems, essential for both energy efficiency and proper system performance.
Its main function is to minimize downward heat loss, directing the heat flow upward, which helps reduce energy consumption and improves system response time.

In most renovation projects, where proper thermal insulation is lacking or located too deep beneath the existing floor, specialized floor insulation prevents heat from being lost to the underlying structure. This significantly reduces operating costs and shortens the heating system’s response time.

Starlon Thermal Insulation for Radiant Foil

Extruded polystyrene insulation belongs to the most widely used standard leveling layers for installation under floating floors. For this reason, the entire radiant foil installation system under floating floors was certified by the Norwegian certification institute NEMKO.
It is also recommended for use under aluminum heating mats for laminate flooring, which are suitable for bathrooms and kitchens.

Starlon insulation is supplied in a 6 mm thickness, making it easy to accommodate the floor sensor, connection leads, and foil connectors.
